Mom's boy

My dog Mason has been with me since 2005. Sometimes a bit of a trouble maker, I still do love and enjoy my dog. He is always happy to see me. Always greeting me with a dance and jig at the front door when I arrive home, generally with a shoe hanging from his mouth! I gave him a bath recently and he came out super soft and quite handsome, I think you will agree!

Goodbye sweet Ben

It was Halloween 1996 when a sweet dog wandered into the lives of my friends, Patty and Dave. For 14 years Ben was a happy and loyal companion to them. His sweet and gentle mannerism was the perfect accent to raising their daughter. Ben stood by his masters, through thick and thin. On Friday January 29, 2010 their loyal friend, Ben was put to rest after a brief illness. Goodbye sweet Ben. Goodbye.

Shed control tips

As a dog walker/ pet sitter and I am all too familiar with the pets that shed. Here are a few tips to help keep you and your home a little more pet hair free.

Feeding
1. Feeding a high quality diet to your pets tends to help in reducing shedding.
There are food additives that you can buy, but I am not a big fan of the adding things to their food  -only because I havent heard of many people having had luck with them

Grooming
1. Brush your dog daily - there are many types of brushes out there - general types of grooming brush and undercoat brushes. You can get dog brushes online or at any local pet stores, even Walmart. Use the rake type brush to remove the super soft undercoat. Most dogs enjoy brushing. My dog Mason loves it!

Brushing is the most effective way to remove hair on a daily basis. I also reccomend keeping a few pet hair (lint) removers on hand! I just had to get two new ones ~ my Mason is big shedder too!

Remembering Winnie...

Born circa 1997, Sir Winslowe was adopted in 1999 to my sister and her husband Walter. Over the years, Winnie proved to be the most faithful companion, even though their darkest hours. I don't think you could find a more devoted dog to his masters. An all around, sweet natured boy who had a great personality. My sister Brenda and her husband loved that boy with all they had and it was reflected in Winnie's persona. Not having children together of the human type, Winslowe was Bren & Walt's furry boy. He loved his walks and going for rides. He was always happy to see his Aunt Di-Di as I was happy to see him. He was an avid camper, he loved to come and sit by the fire. The Fall Finale and Fall Classic will surely not be the same without him. He was a fine dog who will be sadly missed by all.
