Winter jacket review

In 2004, I purchased a Columbia brand ladies winter jacket- the incherchangable type. I have to say I am impressed. This is the 6th winter season wearing this coat and I have perfectly warm and the jacket still looks nearly new after many washes. As a career I walk dogs, so this means I spend alot of time outside - in lots of different weather. When the wind and snow come along, I have no worries. I can count on my trusty Columbia jacket. Its a little bit longer than most jackets (to cover your buns!) and has elastic cords in quite a few places to snug it up. I have found I don't get too hot and that the wind (vurtually) does not go through it. It has a hood and many pockets placed in the most convenient places, inside & out. Its also interchangale - meaning it's like two jackets in one. It is very simple to zip apart and put back together. Another awesome point is - it is machine washable!  Although it did not come cheap, it ran me about $150.00 (Kohls Department store + used a coupon) My coat has to be one of my best investments I have made. I am very happy with it and would always reccomend this brand to anyone in need of a toasty winter jacket.

Book recomendation

5*****
If you like sarcasism, wit and crudeness - I have the perfect book in mind for you. "Are you there vodka, Its me, Chelsea" is the one. Variety show host Chelsea Handler is the author of this humorous book. Since I picked this up on Tuesday, I can't seem to put it down. Ms. Handler tells tales of her childhood, encounters with the men and the law - among other things! Not for children! Definitly an adult book.

"Elfie" card

here is the cutest little elf card. I used cb folder  (a2 - snow dots), sanded it to get the white core to come through and dot glued it to a slightly patterned blue paper. I found the cutest little elf stamp @ Michaels - $1
I used the wet emboss technique with black ink and clear emb. powder. for shine, just gave him a little color with some markers with a dab of stickles on his hat, buttons and shoes (purple & red), I cut him out and popped him onto a white cardstock circle and did some edge distressing in light blue. The inside says " Have youself an "elfie" little Christmas, which i had attempted to hand write but x'd that idea fast and instead pc printed the saying on the same blue patterned paper that is under snow dots -  He is just too cute!

Happy Turkey Day cards

These cute cards were really fun to make!
I cant wait to give them to my parents and my love's mom! I know they will enjoy them
Here are some simple directions on how i made these cards
Using the home decor cart I made the turkey "feathers" and tear drop cart for his "gobbler"- used the #6 shift
I cut the body with a 1.5 in. scallop punch and the MS small scallop punch for head. i put both scallops thru CB using the houndstooth folder. I used a really tiny snow flake punch for his feet.
when i cut the "feathers" i used the flip feature on my E (i cut @ 2.75 in.) ~ i stuck 3 to left and 3 to the right and one in the middle. For detail, I inked the scalloped circles, his feet and his facial parts, with a rhubarb stalk - Memento Ink - and gave him some cute googly eyes! The stamp is part of a studio G Thanksgiving set i got last year @ M's. i used the same Memento ink and an orange marker to highlight the greeting.
I attached a small brad and stickled with red, used a pop dot to give it some depth. I used the "cheater method" (Robyn- mypinkstamper) for the brown satin ribbon at the bottom.

What rhymes with 3????

I am the type of person who is all about wording. I got writer's block while helping my sister with her daughter's birthday invites. Needed something that rhymed with the number 3, hmmmmm??? I googled and found a really great web tool. It is called http://www.rhymer.com/. I am always using a thesaurus or dictionary, and now I am very happy to be able to refer to this site for my rhyming word needs!

Sunday Oct. 25th

Today was a pretty busy day. I picked up one of my every-so-often dog sits, Henry. He spent a bit of time with Mason and I until I headed over to Liz's to help get her house ready for our upcoming party. I spent about 2 hours with Amy, Bren, Walt, Liz, John and the kids cleaning and setting up Halloween props. Liz then started dinner and I went and brought Henry home. When I got back we had dinner and dessert, added a few more decorations and called it a night. We will finish with the set up on Friday afternoon. Cant wait!

I have been experiencing some pc issues for a few days. I have tried remedying the issue many ways to no avail. Seems that my photo's that I try to upload to my photobucket account are not working. I have figured out what the issue is ~ but I cant seem to find out how to fix it.

Glass Dog decanters

On Saturday Oct. 3 I traveled to Warrensburg, NY to the "World's Largest Garage Sale". While it was not quite what I expected it to be ~ I did find a neat treasure to add to my collection of glass dog decanters. The first two I purchased at a local GoodWill store (the green and the purple glass) and the blue depression glass is the find from the "WLGS" in New York State.
