Visions of Summer...

My inspriration for these two cards have come from my recent visions of summer. While the world does look very pretty covered in a white blanket of snow, I am sooo ready for warm weather!!!
Both cards are A2 in size. I use my new Martha Stewart scoring board to score each piece of cardstock at 4.25.
On the violet "thank you" card, I have used some vellum flowers that I have had in my stash of craft supplies (5 years now!) I punched the bottom edge of the violet paper using the Fiskars Threading Water punch - love this one! I placed an oval white paper inked with Memento Rose Bud and Lilac Posies. I inked the edges with my new Ranger/ Tim Holtz applicator - another new love. Under the edged border punch I used a small strip of small patterned floral paper. I then curled the vellum flowers slightly and used glue dots to hold them down. I also added stickles to the flowers and the greenery. The Stickles gave the flowers and stems a beautiful 3-D effect. I inked the outer edges of the card and added three small crystals in the top left corner. I finished the card by stamping a small "thank you" stamp in the bottom right corner.

The second card was also a lot of fun. I started with a turquoise cardstock and layered it with a vibrant yellow paper and then again with a neat lime green argoyle type print. I used my Cricut and new Cricut desigh studio to make the phrase "Happy Birthday!"(Don Juan cart - LOVE this font!!) I inked the words in Memento Cantaloupe  and VersaMagic Turquiose Gem chalk ink - using the yellow shade in the middle of the words and then rubbed the blue on the top and bottom. I Stickled the dot on the "I" and the star on the exclemation with yellow. These cards are making me feel warmer already!!!
